01 / EVALUATE

Understand the lawn

Turf type, sunlight, thatch, and weed pressure help guide care. We look at the conditions behind your concerns so the plan fits the property.

02 / FEED + MANAGE WEEDS

Apply with purpose

Seasonal liquid nutrition supports active turf. Pre-emergents help prevent new weeds, while targeted post-emergents address existing weeds with products appropriate for the grass and conditions.

03 / ADJUST + MAINTAIN

Keep care responsive

We monitor lawn response, adjust for heat and rainfall, and watch for seasonal insect and disease concerns. Visit notes explain the work and any aftercare your lawn needs.

Your lawn program includes lawn weed control. Flower-bed weed control, fire ant service, and aeration are separate services we can discuss with your estimate. Mowing and landscape maintenance are outside this treatment program.

Care for Ascension’s growing season

Every season gives
your lawn a different job.

The Gonzales program follows your grass through spring growth, summer stress, fall transition, and winter weed pressure. Each visit is adjusted to the conditions.

  1. Spring / active growth

    Start with the lawn’s wake-up.

Time feeding to active growth, address early weeds, and use preventive treatments at appropriate seasonal windows.

  2. Summer / heat and growth

    Support steady progress.

Adjust nutrition and weed control for heat, moisture, and turf response while monitoring seasonal insect activity.

  3. Fall / seasonal transition

Prepare for a change of pace.

Shift nutrition as growth slows, manage cool-season weed pressure, and watch for seasonal disease concerns.

  4. Winter / weed management

    Keep care going through dormancy.

Monitor lawn conditions and winter weeds. Dormant warm-season grass does not need the same nitrogen feeding as actively growing summer turf.

This is an overview of seasonal priorities. Actual products, rates, and visit timing depend on turf needs, weather, and label directions.

Built for Gonzales’ warm-season grasses

Good care starts with
knowing your grass.

A centipede lawn and a Bermuda lawn should not have identical nutrition goals. We consider the grass you have along with shade, moisture, and maintenance so the plan supports healthy growth.

Thin spots deserve more than a guess.Tell us where the lawn struggles and what you’ve noticed. Soil testing can help with nutrient and pH decisions, while moisture, pests, or damaged roots may require attention beyond fertilizer.
How your grass type shapes the approach
CentipedeA naturally lighter green grass with lower nitrogen needs. Excess feeding can create stress instead of improving lawn health.
St. AugustineAccount for sunlight and stress. Shaded areas may need less fertilizer than turf in full sun.
BermudaGenerally has greater nitrogen needs than centipede. Feeding should reflect active growth and how the lawn is maintained.
ZoysiaBalance growth with maintenance. Too much nitrogen can contribute to excess growth and thatch.

Clear answers before you start

Gonzales lawn care,
without the guesswork.

What to expect from your program, your payments, and your first service visit.

Talk with our team
How often do you treat lawns in Gonzales?

Our annual lawn program includes eight planned visits, generally about six weeks apart. Timing and applications depend on the season, weather, and turf condition. Each visit has a purpose; eight visits do not mean eight identical fertilizer applications.

How does your monthly billing work?

The annual eight-visit program price is divided into twelve monthly payments. Monthly billing does not mean a treatment every month. Service is month-to-month with no long-term contract. Your estimate explains the property’s price, service scope, and terms before you approve.

Is weed control included with fertilization?

Yes. The lawn program includes seasonally timed pre-emergents for prevention and targeted post-emergents for existing weeds. Product selection depends on the grass, weed species, weather, and label directions. Some persistent weeds require continued management or additional targeted treatment.

Which grass types do you treat?

We work with the warm-season grasses common in Gonzales, including centipede, St. Augustine, Bermuda, and zoysia. Nutrition and weed-control choices are adjusted for the turf and site conditions. If you do not know your grass type, tell us and we can help identify the next step.

Do you serve Geismar, Dutchtown, and Sorrento?

Yes. Our nearby service area includes Gonzales, Geismar, Dutchtown, Sorrento, St. Amant, and Prairieville. We confirm service availability using your address, so send your property details for a coverage check and estimate.

Do I need to be home for treatment?

Usually not, as long as we have access to the scheduled treatment area. Please unlock gates, secure pets, and share any access restrictions or sensitive areas. We provide service notes and aftercare directions following the visit.

When can children and pets return to the lawn?

Keep people and pets away from the treatment area during application. Follow the specific re-entry directions provided for the products used. A single waiting period does not apply to every treatment.

Should I water or mow after an application?

Follow the instructions provided with that visit. Watering and mowing timing depend on the products applied and the conditions. If you are unsure, contact our office before changing the aftercare plan.

Will fertilizer fix yellow grass or bare spots?

Not always. Shade, moisture, mowing, insects, disease, and soil conditions can affect the lawn. Tell us what you are seeing so we can review the cause and recommend an appropriate next step. Fertilizer cannot revive dead grass or correct drainage problems by itself.

Can I add flower-bed or fire ant service?

Yes. These are separate services that can be included in your estimate or added to your plan. We will explain the scope and price. Seasonal insect and disease care within the regular lawn program follows that program’s scope; additional targeted care is reviewed when needed.
